I just finished David Wann's new book, Reinventing Community: Stories from the Walkways of Cohousing. As a newbie to cohousing (we're still looking for land), I highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning what cohousing is like. Short of actually living in a community, I can't imagine a better way to get an idea of what to expect. The book is well-written and the stories are great bedtime reading. I particularly enjoyed reading stories by people I had met through my cohousing travels (Rick Mockler, Joani Blank, & Liz Stevenson). Liz's wonderful article on Cooking for Fifty should be required reading for all new cohousing cooks -- it's entertaining and very helpful. Kudos to David for a great job. The book is available from www.Amazon.com or in bookstores. Marty Maskall Sacramento Suburban Cohousing www.sacsuburbancohousing.org
