Looking for investors

Reinforming Tom Hammer's post, our group will also be looking for investors. We are very close to agreeing to purchase 3.5 acres for $2.5 million (California prices, ugh). The owner would carry $1.5 million, but we will need to raise $1 million. So any response to Tom, I'm also interested. Thanks.

I realize there have been sexier <smile> topics on this list lately, but I didn't expect <no> responses to my note. That has us guessing about the meaning of "no response." No interest (no pun intended), no funds available, already answered before...more pressing issues? We could use a hand in in interpretation, at least.

 Thanks,

Apologies if this has been discussed before...are
there recognized sources for venture capital that will
support fledgling cohousing communities in their most
vulnerable stages, such as ours, when we may be close
to a point where we have found a site but without the
financial resources to tie up the land?

If there are not, perhaps the Cohousing Association of
the U.S. and other countries could start compiling a
list of potential investors or begin soliciting such
entities.

Ideally, there would be a revolving fund established
that would be continually replenished by loans being
repaid plus interest. I assume that would be set up
as a nonprofit.
