Hi Mary, I have done a lot of research for our common house and it seems that wood and light weight easily stackable are mutually exclusive. I know of one community that went the wood table way and the tables are so heavy that it takes four men to lift them to stack. Stack in this case is just one on top of another. Folding legs is a good idea. If you are willing to go plastic then you have many more choices. Keep in mind that wood will not hold up as well as plastic in this particular use. It is subject to scraching and chipping. Try doing a google search for stackable chairs and tables. Lifeline makes a whole system, stacking cart and all. If there is a costco near you they carry that brand. The chairs are form fitting and surprising comfortable. Tim
