I don't know the details, but it was related to the fact that our group was a partner with our developer (Wonderland Hill) and knew that we would be receiving money from the project. I believe that Wonderland released some of those funds early so we could help a few folks in our group. This was very late in the process; we couldn't have made such a promise before we knew that the project would be profitable.
