When I was in San Diego, a man told me about his neighbor who was forbidden to use a clothes line due to neighborhood rules. (This was not a cohousing neighborhood.) The man felt the rules were unfair, so he took the neighbor's laundry and ran it up his flag pole. If anyone complained, he protested that he had a right to fly his "flags." Those who protested backed down, and the clothes dried in the air. Jan Sunward Ann Arbor, MI
