Hi Barb!  Take a look at Takoma Village in Washington, (DC.  My home!)  43 
units on 1.43 acres.  takomavillage.org

And for a really dense urban design look at Eastern Village in Silver Spring, 
MD:  56 units in the cohousing community and 11 units of commercial property 
all on under 1/3rd an acre.  easternvillage.org
