It sounds like she's looking for Potomac Valley Cohousing, which is  
next meeting at the Quince Orchard Library in Gaithersburg this  
Tuesday evening. You can find information on the group's YahooGroup:

(I'd recommended that they list themselves in the cohousing  
directory, but they may not have gottten to that yet)

The Washington, DC area is blessed with a high concentration of  
cohousing communities and developers, and, as a result of pioneering  
efforts in that area, a strong regional group, Mid-Atlantic  
Cohousing, which is a longstanding autonomous chapter of Coho/US,  
working on obtaining independent nonprofit status. It conducts  
regular phone meetings among community organizers, regional  
workshops, and represents cohousing through participation in events  
such as the Green Festival.

P.S. I was very impressed with the North Oakland Cohousing meeting at  
Swan's Market (the restaurant part, not the cohousing part) I  
observed today. Lots of group-definition/membership-process sort of  
activities, strong focus on affordability and diversity strategies, a  
clear feeling of building resiliency and moving forward to self- 
develop with some key professional partnerships

P.P.S. Congratulations to Swan's Market Cohousing on its latest  
addition, the first kid born to a member in several years. Does this  
make 8 kids now, vs. 1 a year ago?
