Hi Sharon...the workshop/study group sounds exciting...will there be any way
that those of us at a distance who are interested can participate in some
way? What about video taping the workshop? Could we be included in the
discussion group by email. Would you consider some teleconferencing? We
are going to get a video camera soon and are thinking about videoing
meetings to be able to let people who have not experienced a sociocratic
meeting to see how it goes.
We are still on the board of H.O.M.E.S. Housing Ourselves Made Easy Society
and are still interested in cohousing and/or shared housing. We are
currently running a small program offering short term accommodation to
people new to town while they look for more permanent housing. Calgary has
a .3% vacancy rate and since it is booming with the oil business people are
flocking here with immediate needs. We are considering expanding the
program to attract other home owners to offer up a bedroom to newcomers and
we have started to write a book about how to do that safely. H.O.M.E.S. has
been operating Sociocratically since 2004 with mainly theory to guide us.
That is good news that your book will be published soon...we really need the
exposure and the text book tool.
Thanks for doing everything that you do.
