Hello. We are writing to let you know that we are selling 2 beautiful
acres with many mature silver maple and spruce trees in Bozeman, Montana.
This land has a long tradition of being loved. We're leaving the area and
we would like to see someone take ownership who will continue this
tradition. We think that a co-housing community would be ideal because of
the care and stewardship that co-housing groups bring to the land.

A little background on Bozeman...Bozeman was voted USA's #1
"Dreamtown" last year because of its outstanding quality of life (see
bizjournal.com). Bozeman is a college town with a forward-thinking City
Commission that wants to create a community where people can walk instead
of drive. (see Page 2 of Bozeman's "2020 Plan" at
http://www.bozeman.net/bozeman/2020_plan.pdf ). There is fantastic skiing,
hiking, fishing 30 minutes from town and the rivers, forests and mountain
ranges are unbelievably beautiful and close.

This parcel of land is ideal for a co-housing community such as has been
established on 2.2 acres in Pleasant Hill, California. It is close to
shopping, schools, the post office, many recreational parks (including a
100 acre park within walking distance) and a business park. The property
currently has a 2,138 square foot home on it that could be used as a
community center, a 3,600 square foot shop, and a smaller "artist studio".
There is a zoning change in progress to allow a group to build a higher or
lower density community, and the land cost per home could range from
$7,562 to $44,682.

Please let us know if you are interested in starting co-housing in Bozeman
or if you know anyone who is. There was a Gallatin Valley Co-housing group
announced on this blog on 4/22/98 and someone from Washington State
contacted us 12/27/06 and is interested in joining a co-housing group
here.

Thank you.
