Hello everyone, I'm really thrilled to see that so much interest has been generated with (re)starting the sample document library. I should be having a conversation with the good people at cohousing.org today, and will hopefully have an announcement in relatively short order. Meanwhile, I've been noodling how to organize all the documents I'm about to be showered in. While organizing by document type is an obvious method, it occurs to me that the group structure that has created the documents will be equally important, as could other community aspects such as location (both geographical and urban/rural). Here's where I need your help, or direction to a "cohousing group legal structure primer" (if such a thing exists). To help organize the documents, I need to know what kind of group structures are out there. Some are co-operatives, others operate as condos. What else is there? How does that work? Once I have those answers, the document library (which is sorely needing a name - probably a different thread) will be as much an educational tool as it will be a repository of knowledge. It will BECOME the cohousing group legal structure primer. Are there any legal wonks out there that could help me, or even be willing to write up such a primer? Thanks for your continued support and encouragement! Regards, Andrew Netherton Laurel Creek Commons (unstructured, but not for long) Waterloo, ON, Canada
