Forwarding . . . Date: Tue, 05 Jun 2007 11:02:50 -0700 Organization: Communities Magazine Hello all,As you may have heard, Jan Steinman is leaving us, so we're seeking a new Photo and Illustration Editor. I have posted the following blurb in some online job sites, but please pass it around among your networks. The close date for applications is June 29.
Thanks!Communities magazine (<http://communities.ic.org>http://communities.ic.org) is seeking a part-time Photo and Illustration Editor with professional experience in photography, publications, and digital image processing. Communities is a quarterly publication focusing on cooperative living in North America, published by the Fellowship for Intentional Community. It covers intentional communities of all kinds, including ecovillages, cohousing, student co-ops, and urban ashrams. It also showcases vibrant neighborhoods, and provides the tools and inspiration to create more community wherever you are. Each issue is organized around a theme, and articles regularly explore cooperative decision making, conflict resolution, and sustainable building.
The Photo and Illustration Editor works closely with a small, collaborative team scattered around the country, and reports to the Managing Editor. Location is unimportant, but high speed access to the Internet is essential. The position involves soliciting photos and illustrations for each issue, preparing them for layout, and monitoring them throughout the printing process.
To apply, send a cover letter, resume and portfolio of relevant work to <mailto:managingeditor [at] ic.org>managingeditor [at] ic.org by June 29.
