In 1999 when 8 of us from the US visited cohousing in Denmark, we visited a community that was under development in a fairly modern school building (from 1960' or 70's?). It's called Gundsolille Cohousing in Roskilde, DK. As I recall they were doing much of the renovation work themselves. We have some pictures (the "DK99" trip pictures are not currently available on the web - we'll get them back up one of htese times. I think I have some audio tape somewhere. As I recall a few folks were living in the building when we were there but I'm unsure about that. What would be interesting, would be to get back in touch and see how it worked out since then. BTW the term "retrofit cohousing" is used to refer to cohousing developed in existing housing with little or no rebuilding - retrofitting the use not the structures. I know it's a bit confusing.
