Michael,

Thanks for the tip, and my apologies to all. I have never seen the 
request you mention -- I don't often read posts about homes for sale or 
rent -- but it makes perfect sense.

Bartimaeus Community at Meadow Wood is located between Bremerton (home 
of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard) and Silverdale (home of Old Town 
Silverdale, the big box stores, and the mall), in Kitsap County, 
Washington, U.S.A. Meadow Wood is a new cohousing neighborhood on 7 
acres along Steele Creek, a salmon stream. We have seven buildings 
containing 26 units, housing families and singles from ages 1 to 89 (and 
rising).

From Bremerton, it is a one hour scenic ferry ride to downtown Seattle. 
In fact, one of our residents makes the commute daily, parking his car 
at a nearby park-and-ride lot and taking the bus to the ferry terminal. 
We are also about 45 minutes from the Bainbridge Island and Kingston 
ferries, which make 30 minute crossings to Seattle and to Edmonds, just 
north of Seattle.

We are also a one hour drive to historic Port Townsend (to the north) 
and to the Olympic National Park (to the west) and the Pacific Ocean 
beyond, via the Hood Canal Bridge.

In fact, Kitsap County is nearly an island, being surrounded by water 
(Puget Sound and Hood Canal) on three sides. It is a gorgeous area, and 
perfect for someone who wants to be near, but not in, the Seattle 
metropolitan area.
