How far west? Which nation? (grin) This 2007 Cohousing.org article by Brad Gunkel of McCamant & Durrett Architects, describes Petaluma Avenue Homes, a subsidized rental cohousing project in Sebastopol, CA: http://www.cohousing.org/creating_affordability_2.aspx This 1994 Cohousing.org article notes the first rental cohousing community in Denmark (completed in 1976, I think): http://www.cohousing.org/related_denmark.aspx I expect there are other examples completed between 1976 and now. Any others you are aware of?
