This 2007 Cohousing.org article by Brad Gunkel of McCamant & Durrett
Architects, describes Petaluma Avenue Homes, a subsidized rental
cohousing project in Sebastopol, CA:

This 1994 Cohousing.org article notes the first rental cohousing
community in Denmark (completed in 1976, I think):

I expect there are other examples completed between 1976 and now.
