I just said I could participate if it were earlier on another night, but the 
truth is, like Ellen, I don't like conference calls.  An e mail list  (doesn't 
have to be part of this one necessarily) allows everyone to participate no 
matter what their schedule.  Also allows for everyone to deliver more 
thoughtful replies.  I'll bet participation would be wider and deeper if we 
could write out thoughts when we were able to focus.

I have to say that I'm a night person, but even for me, 11 pm would be
far too late for a meeting of any kind, especially a conference call. :/

I don't participate in conference calls unless they're required, because 
I'm not a phone person, and if I were, I'd still not understand why
conference calls with no particular topic would be more useful than 
Cohousing-L. :) Perhaps you could say more about their advantages, for
people who do enjoy the telephone?
