I forgot to say that they have one meeting that everyone who is interested in nominating, discussing, consenting, or serving must attend if they want to a part of the process. Some attend by telephone.
This facilitates immediate acceptance and changes in job descriptions, etc. They hire a facilitator to conduct the process.
Thus the whole nominations and selection happens in 2 hours.Other groups could do it differently but this is how they choose to do it. Another option, if you select board members on staggered terms or also select people by consent to head teams or serve on special task forces, is to have a regular part of meetings to select whomever needs to be selected. In sociocratic organizations all people who are assigned to do specific jobs, particularly decision-making jobs, are chosen by this process. The process is actually the same as the process of achieving consent on a proposal.
