Our only incentive to withdraw was that, if you didn't, you were
required to keep up with 5% of our increasing unit prices. That is,
to stay active a person had to put in additional money when new
budgets were approved.
Personally, I was frustrated by households that did not choose to withdraw. In one case a household that would have liked someone to buy-out their household expressed their opinion about whether my household could buy-out a different household and I found myself feeling hurt and angry.
But honestly, I don't think it actually hurt our group, and my situation was resolved well.

Does anyone have experience with providing incentives for equity members to formally drop out of the group when they know that they will not buy a unit? Has any group been in the situation where an equity member household knew that they would not buy a unit for whatever reason, but did not leave the group? Did this negatively affect the group?
