Hi David

We are your new neighbors to the north in Peterborough NH and are finalizing
our plans for our common house to be built this spring. We are a community of
29 households. Would love to see the configuration of your first floor
especially details on your kitchen including kitchen appliances.

Also there is lots of chatter about great room noise and many communities
having to retrofit sound work. What is your story? I also am intrigued with
the great room concept. Does that mean one can use it as a dining room and
also other purposes. Am interested in knowing how you did table layout and
tables used.

Thanks for helping,

Hi Per,

We at Jamaica Plain Cohousing are a 30-household community on one acre
of urban land. Our common facilities, in addition to an elevator, include a
great room, kitchen, children's playroom, living room, mail room, courtyard and
patio on the main level, a guest suite, laundry room, rumpus room, office area,
mechanical room, storage room, and boiler room on the basement level on the
common-house side, and a large undeveloped basement on the other side,
currently used for carpentry and other work, bike storage, outdoor-furniture
storage, and tool storage.

Let me know if you'd like to know the various sizes and dimensions.
All the best in your formation!

Regards,
David Heimann

We are building a common house soon at Champlain Valley Cohousing in
Vermont. We will have 26 households when we're fully established. I
was wondering what size other people's common houses are. How big is
yours and how many households do you have?
