Gil Starble <rejvcap [at] yahoo.com> is the author of the message below. It was posted by Fred, the Cohousing-L list manager <fholson [at] cohousing.org> because it was in html only. -------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS -------------------- Hello, We are a small group of 3 families seeking others who would like to move to NC and build a sustainable neighborhood. Land is already identified, and we have put money down to developer. Here is the membership profile and our idea of the neighborhood so far: Gil, a health insurance broker in Boston, MA with a NC insurance license pending, is planning to retire to NC, passionate about renewable energy equipment. Dave, a property manager and contractor also in Milton, MA is looking for a second home and has made a living from fixing up homes for fifteen years Bob, a NC A&T professor and engineer is also seeking to be part of the group mostly because he is helping his children to buy a new home and he's helping us by consulting with the group so far by offering guidance in building energy calculations and building specifications. We are searching for people who are looking to pay under $200,000 for a single family home, who don't mind living in a new built-to-suit home on a small lot, pay zero utility bills, make a minimum environmental impact, and that is basically the genesis of this group. A 33% portion of this planned unit development is earmarked for conservation easement which will insure that the 6 acres will never be built on, and the plan calls for 3/4 mile walking trails, 2 tennis courts, some lots have distant views of the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills. Simple and inexpensive living is contemplated...no big ideas, just common sense approach to cost containment and comfortably designed bungalows. Interested? Contact Gil to see and talk. Kind regards, Gil
