Five or six years ago I had an interesting conversation with a friend and her husband about guns in cohousing. I had asekd if they might be interested in living in cohousing, and got an unexpectedly vehement no. It turns out her husband assumed that children would have free access to everyone's house, whether or not they were welcome or invited, and he was sure the kids in the community would go searching around his house for his guns, and the ammo in its locked box, and disaster would ensue. So far neither rampant guns, nor uninvited children have materialized in our community.
