Northern California, Saturday, October 25 Central Massachusetts, Sunday, October 26 The last Coho/US tours of 2008 will both be held on the weekend of October 25-26. The Saturday, October 25 California tour will be led by Eris Weaver, a founding member of Frog Song Cohousing in Sonoma County. Leaving from Swan's Market Cohousing, 930 Clay Street in downtown Oakland, our bus will take us to the Sacramento and Davis communities in the morning (Muir Commons, N Street and Southside Park), and Pleasant Hill, Berkeley, Doyle Street (Emeryville) and Swan's Market Cohousing (Oakland) in the afternoon. A boxed lunch and lots of information about each community will be included. The Sunday October 26 Massachusetts tour will be led by Laura Fitch, a cohousing architect and 14-year resident of Pioneer Valley Cohousing in Amherst. We will travel by bus and visit Camelot Cohousing and Mosaic Commons, two new developments in Berlin, MA, then move on to tour Jamaica Plain Cohousing (where lunch will be served) and finish up at New View Cohousing in Acton. The tour starts and ends at the Riverside MBTA station (on the Green Line and just off Route 128 in Newton). You will have a chance to see two established cohousing communities and two under construction, and visit with members of each community. The cost of each tour is $95 per person.
