There are certain cultural values that the Republican party has taken on that I would not label conservative. I think you've done a good job of listing most of them. Personally, I'm more of a libertarian bent though I have been registered as a green for more than a decade. I believe there are certain places where government intervention in markets is appropriate, such as creating a cost accounting for carbon emissions from industries and cars and making sure it gets paid.... trying to bring this back to a topic that is group relevant, cohousing works for me because it is part of "think globally, act locally" and many design values of Bear Grass Village in Ashland have been green values. We need more of that, and the consumer can provide that by choosing wisely how to spend their money, not the government. - - Lyle -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.8 (Darwin) iEYEAREDAAYFAkkTCbIACgkQ00lQLawESXoe/ACfWBNkYj1hhJC57UM9AInJ9P2I NqQAoNOELCAJBn+CFVRezx72U/ukne37 =UaN5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
