Greetings, DC-area cohousers and cohousing seekers. Please pass this on to your friends and group lists, where appropriate. Raines Cohen, here, visiting from Berkeley (CA) Cohousing, enjoying your lovely region once again (it helps that 85% of my living relatives on both sides of the family are in this area), and happy to have seen a bunch of old familiar faces in several groups. I'm writing because I'm coordinating a cohousing presence co-sponsored by your regional association, Mid-Atlantic Cohousing (MAC), in a shared booth at the Green Festival this weekend: booth #118 to be exact (sharing with "Ecolocity DC" in Hall D of the DC Convention Center), 10-6 Saturday and Sunday, and as a result I've got some free daypasses for the festival. Yes, I know some of you are going to a regional planning meeting at Takoma Village Cohousing from 10-2 on Sunday, but you can come on down afterwards, or come by on Saturday. If you're interested, please drop me a line off the list, and I'll let you know how to get 'em. While we'd be delighted to have you come by the booth and relax for a bit so people can see how mellow you can get while living in cohousing, I mostly want to make sure that any interested cohousers get a chance to come to the show and connect. There's a bunch of exciting speakers and lots of interesting booths. You can learn more at: http://www.GreenFestivals.org/ Raines Cohen, Cohousing Coach and Community Organizer Planning for Sustainable Communities at Berkeley (CA) Cohousing http://www.CohousingCoach.com/ Congratulating Concord EcoVillage cohousing on its show of support from the West Grove (PA) borough council this week: a very well-received, professional presentation won them over in short order; I've never seen a regulatory body ask a developer "how can we be a partner?" and look for ways to streamline zoning approval before! and wishing HundredFold Farm good luck in its busy Christmas-tree selling season; hopefully there will be time to host visitors when I'm back after the rush.
