There is no cohousing in Melbourne or Launceston, yet! In fact,
cohousing in Australia is lagging way behind USA.

Here are all the projects I know of in Australia. Please let me know
if you find any others:

* Cascade Cohousing in Hobart, Tasmania, not far from Launceston only
2.5 hours drive! Don't have much information on them --

* Crystal Waters Village, up north in Brisbane. Much more about
permaculture village than community. No common meals or such. --

* Illabunda, has land and starting construction. Much less about
community and much more about being self-sufficient. The two familes
make up half of the units and they are trying to attract more --

* Sydney Coastal Ecovillage, still looking for land. More ecovillage
than cohousing, intended to be relatively big -- http://www.scev.org/

* Melbourne Cohousing network, definitions and some academic
information, but no links to any existing cohousing in Melbourne --

* Canberra Cohousing, have been "forming" for the last 8 years. The
web site says they were negotiating for land in 2007, so maybe there
