Why would this be true? The whole complex would cost just as much to build. Is it a savings on the individual legal fees?
in a coop, one's membership share does not increase in value (no more more than a small cost of living increase) no matter how long one lives there.
This isn't part of the definition of a coop. Normally the price of one's share increases with the market just as any other form of ownership.
If one's investment doesn't increase in value, one can never move. Unless one has other forms of income that do increase.
