Thanks Ron, when you say, "at their own discretion", do you mean there is 
simply an expectation that 
they will participate and so they decide how they will participate in "chores" 
or upkeep, whatever we want to
call it?  Did an adult or group of adults meet with the teenagers (and/or 
children) and get their feedback as to
what they would like to do for chores.  I'm just wondering what level of 
involvement any adults have/had in supporting
this "arrangement".  Certainly, if nothing else, I understand there are parents 
encouraging and supporting their teens in their 
contribution to the community.
 
In our community the teens run parties, help with the childrens team,  maintain 
the commonhouse electronics and maintain trails in the woods. In  all cases, 
the teens self select these roles at their own discretion.    Rob Sandelin
