Hi,

Fred, the Cohousing-L listserv manager here.
I'm now home from an extraordinary 5 weeks that included travel to
Washington, DC , South Carolina (SC) and Sioux City, IA (SC,IA).
and in between several sessions with Diana Leafe Christian here in
Minneapolis.

During the 3 days in DC we stayed at Takoma Village and stayed in the unit
Jennifer Ryan recently posted was for rent in May and June and possibly
for sale later. TVC is an urban community I would very much like to live
in (if only they had a "worm hole" to Minneapolis). Jennifer's unit is
very nice and spacious and conveniently located part way down the "U"
shaped court yard from the common house. See her post at:
http://lists.cohousing.org/archives/cohousing-l/msg29859.html

My Sioux City time was unplanned and was to be with my 90 year old mother
during what turned out to be her final two weeks. It was a good visit and
I noted that I have continued her long tradition of activism in the
community.

While traveling I get access to the net one way or another and am able to
do list manager tasks at least minimally tho a few things don't get done
as well as they deserve. If there are any outstanding requests from
recent weeks, please send me a note off list.

Please DO NOT reply to this message about admin stuff.

Note that I do not make general announcements about my absences in advance
for security reasons tho I typically mention it to a few subscribers in
case a major problem develops when I am not checking in very often.

BTW even when I am at home, I do not get Cohousing-L messages in my Inbox
tho I typically browse the archives fairly often. So it is possible that
a problem might develop that is mentioned in a message(s) posted to the
list and I would not notice for a while. Feel free to send me a note
direct to alert me to such things.

Other admin notes...

Use good subject lines.

Lately the list has been getting more Spam that gets as far as the admin
requests (along with messages like those that are larger than 8K bytes and
are held for my review). To deal with this increase I now discard messages
based on subject lines that look like Spam without looking at the body.
Therefore, there is an additional reason to be sure to assign relevant,
informative subject lines that summarize your post. Otherwise if you post
a large message with a subject line like for example "Important
Information" , it might get discarded with out examination.

Also please try to
o Delete any quoted material in replies that is not needed for context
o Sign your posts with your name and community name
o If you are getting too much email and considering unsubscribing,
please consider digest mode or the weekly summary
o See FAQ's for more posting advice and alternate ways of reading
