An important reminder to those of you within reach of Boston and
beyond....
Oct 24: Boston Area Cohousing tour AND traveling up to Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm in Peterborough, NH!
Join us on this "traveling Cohousing workshop" and New England Fall tour of five (5) Cohousing communities in and around the Boston area. Massachusetts is home to several new and well-aged Cohousing communities.
As you travel between each location on a comfortable bus, your guide, in this case Laura Fitch of Kraus Fitch Architects in Amherst, long time cohousing resident and architect, and one of our most knowledgeable and highly respected professionals in the Cohousing movement, will give participants a chance to introduce themselves, share general information about cohousing, answer questions, provide fact sheets and site plans, and prepare you for your ~40-minute visit to each community. At each stop, a community host will guide your group through his or her neighborhood and answer questions. On this tour you will visit these five communities:
• Mosaic Commons (Berlin, MA) - 34 units, 65 acres, completed in 2008• Camelot Cohousing (Berlin, MA) - 34 units, 68 acres, completed in 2008 • New View Cohousing (Acton, MA) - 24 units, 20 acres, completed in 1995 • Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm (Peterborough, NH) - 29 units, 70 acres, completed in 2008 • Cambridge Cohousing (Boston, MA) - 41 units, 2 acres, completed in 2001
The cost includes a delicious common meal (lunch) which you will enjoy at the Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm. The tour will meet at Alewife commuter station (At the end of the Red Line and at the intersection of Alewife Brook Parkway and Cambridge Park Drive) in Cambridge. At the end of the day the bus will return to Alewife. We look forward to having you join us for a day full of learning, community building and fun!
