I would like to again thank all the people who wrote thoughtful posts about
co-farming. I am tending to agree that cohousing and co-farming require a
different format; the needs are too different. It would probably be smarter
for me to simply figure out more clearly what kind of living arrangement
would best suit me and then figure out where to advertise to find like
minded people and go from there (the intentional community sites might be a
good start). Perhaps the cohousing model is not quite the right thing.

I haven't exactly ruled out anywhere geographically except places where I am
fairly confident the lack of rainfall or intensity of summer heat w/humidity
would make things too difficult for me. We have a lot of exploring to do
yet. Every time someone says something good about somewhere I haven't
considered I put it back on the list . . .

Addressing Diana Leafe Christian's post, I think you may have misinterpreted
what I wrote. I have no problem at all with restrictive pet policies. I
think they are often very wise, and the closer proximity people are living,
the more important they are. It just wouldn't work for me personally. What
the Port Townsend policy exemplified was that cohousing (and ecovillages)
isn't quite the model I am looking for. At least, that is what I am
beginning to decide.
