Hello all --

The Mid Atlantic Cohousing (MAC) conference team is pleased to
announce that registration is now open for "Cohousing:  Growing Smart
Communities" 1-day Mid Atlantic Cohousing Regional Spring Conference,
Saturday, March 20, 8:30-6:30 p.m. at the University of Maryland in
College Park, MD.  The event is cosponsored by UMD's School of
Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

This conference will be a day jam packed with workshops, presentations
and networking.  Just a few of the people you can expect to see and
hear and work with at this conference are:

Dene Peterson
Laird Schaub
Don Tucker
Sharon Villines

There will be "tracks" for new and forming groups, building
communities, completed communities and a special track for
professionals currently working in or new to cohousing.

Similar to Open Space Planning, there will also be a FREE FORM
parallel track all day for those who wish to learn or present on a
topic not covered in the programming.  This is YOUR conference.  You
can make whatever you need to have happen ... happen!

Topics range from financing to aging in place in community to
permaculture to consensus to governance to workshare to meetings,
etc.   And for those of you who still have spaces to fill or resales  
there's a
very very very special hands on intensive workshop led by Neshama
Abraham on marketing and sales in a down economy.

Laird Schaub will bring and staff the FIC bookstore.  This is an
opportunity to buy those hard to find titles as well as the
traditional favorites.

The walk-in price of the conference for residents of MAC member
communities is $50.00.  Non Mac members pay $60.00.

HOWEVER ... to encourage early bird registration the first 30 people  
who register
will pay only $25.00 if you're a MAC member or $40.00 if you're a non  
MAC member.
Thereafter, the fee will rise on a regular basis until it hits the
walk-in registration fee.  So ... as soon as registration is open  
which is NOW ...
register and get the lowest price!  (Registration fee includes morning
coffee, tea, bagels, afternoon snack, wine and cheese mixer after the
conference -- CASH BAR.)

Please tell every one you know!  Spread the word!

For the value conscious cohouser ... for a 10 hour conference this is
only $2.50 per hour for MAC members, $4.00 per hour for non MAC
members.  Can you get a better deal anywhere??  Comaraderie, workshop
solutions, presentations, events, experts, networking, food ... and
the parking is free, too!

national conference in June!
