Dear Cohousing-L friends (plus Jan, Rachel and Diane),

Jan apparently found the email  (quoted below) that I 
posted last winter about possible house stays in my 
cohousing unit in Oakland CA for the spring and summer 
now past.. Since then, three other people have 
contacted me offering to house sit.  So I decided to 
send the original posting out afresh with new dates for 
2011 (look down to "THIS PART IS NEW")

Friends,

I live in the most urban cohousing community in North 
America, Swan's
Market Cohousing in downtown Oakland, California. This 
spring and summer
I am doing quite a lot of traveling and would very much 
like to give
folks from anywhere in the country the opportunity to 
stay in my home in
this wonderful community and see what it's like to live 
in cohousing in
exchange for taking loving care of my little poodle.

If you stay here, you can also use my car. However, we 
are walking
distance from all kinds of wonderful places here in 
downtown Oakland,
and two blocks from a BART station. The BART will take 
you to downtown
San Francisco in 12 minutes. And there are buses galore 
to take you
anywhere in the East Bay that you might want to go from 
here.

I live in a loft unit with one full size bed in the 
loft and one
downstairs, so it's comfortable for one or two adults 
with up to two
children.  However, my place is not baby-proof, so 
wouldn't do for a
crawler or toddler.  We have three common dinners a 
week here that you
can participate in if you choose. [And I'm sure my 
neighbors would welcome you to pitch in on a workday if 
one happens while you are here].

THIS PART IS NEW:

As for his winter and spring and summer of next year, 
at the moment I only have a few weekends planned to be 
away...However there's one 12 or 13 day period, June 
14/15 through the 26/27 of June( (2011), that I'm quite 
sure I'll be on the East Coast. That trip might end up 
being up to a week longer on the either end.. You are 
welcome to contact me any time now if you think you 
might like to stay with my little dog for two to three 
weeks in June.

Please feel free to call or email if you have questions 
(better than email now, as I have a broken arm and 
typing is laborious).
