By more age divesity, do you mean more young families? We are getting ready to celebrate our tenth year anniversary this coming fall. We definitely have more children and more age diversity than when we first moved in, with three children, including one newborn. Our residents currently range from a few months to the eighties. We have 27 homes, and 9 of them are owned by parents with children. We have 16 children, ranging in age from just a few months to the teens. We also have individual adult residents living without partners, both owners and renters, who range in age from the thirties to the seventies. We currently have 16 adult men, including 4 renters. We have 25 adult women, including 3 renters. In our case, only 2 homes are entirely rented out. The other renters have rooms in homes where the owners also live. A number of years ago, we had 1 renter with a child. But she is no longer here, and none of the current renters have children. All of our children have parents who are owners. One thing that has made a difference for us is that we have seven rental units. Of the 14-16 total kid population, 8-10 kids live in rental units. We have been talking about reducing the number of rental units allowed, but are coming to realize that they account for most of our young families, and thus, our age diversity. We are still considering the trade-offs.
