The banquet was wonderful last year and if I weren't going to the whole
conference, I would still go to the banquet. Cohousing communities in the area
could car pool.

I assume that this year's banquet will be the same or similar — a pre banquet
cash bar with a silent auction of interesting items and lots of time to mingle
followed by a wonderful dinner and an auction of big items that raised a ton of
money.

The desserts were awarded by the level of something from each table,
contributions? It was fun and the table that ended up with the Twinkies and
Hostess chocolate cupcakes with cream filling was very popular. They were
easily able to trade for strawberries and cheesecake. There were actually so
many desserts, a tray to each table, that most of us got 2 or 3.

The dinner auction included long stays at various cohousing communities in the
US plus England, Australia, etc., were offered. I can't remember what else but
lots of stuff. The auctioneer Brian was a hoot as well.

Just to show you what fast reading by skipping words will do for you, I read
"Lip Synching, Dancing" as "lap dancing" and wondered if the organizers were
really ready to go that far. Just when you thought cohousing was G rated…..
