Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm in Peterborough, NH is seeking the wisdom of our peers as we try to address another one of those cohousing dilemmas that seem to arise as we grow up and get past the basics and into the details. Nubi is incorporated as a condominium. We now have a membership based CSA that is not incorporated and has a few out of neighborhood paying shares. The CSA has a land use agreement with the community. We also have several other farm agreements like with our Chicken Club and a group of neighbors that raises pigs. Neither of these sell goods off the farm nor have non-community members. We are challenged (as our most insurance brokers) in trying to figure out how to have insurance for the farm that is part of a condominium - not a common occurrence it appears. We are wondering how you have structured your farm business and how you insure it to minimize exposure to the co-housing community members without excessively burdening the enterprises. If you have paid farmers, how are they insured? Thank you for your help. Mary Vallier-Kaplan Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm www.peterboroughcohousing.org
