Re: What are your Dues Payment Policy: late payment fees?

We charge a $25 late fee for dues more than 15 days late. We have also
strongly encouraged everyone to sign up for Vanco which automatically deducts
their dues every month from their account and deposits it in our Cohousing
account. Cohousing pays the $0.25 per person fee. This saves us having to
chase people for money. We have 19 out of 20 households signed up for this
now. When the dues change in January we can edit the Vanco account and change
everyones dues to the new correct amount. Before Vanco every year when the
dues changed several people would forget and write checks for the wrong amount,
sometimes for multiple months. The bookkeeper got tired of chasing people for
checks. This works much more smoothly.
