Friends,

As a cohousing community member, frequent reader of coho-l and a permaculture teacher, I would like to comment on the recent messages from Vladislav on his permaculture courses. Vladislav is a very active marketer of his permaculture design courses run primarily in the SF bay area and Eugene, Oregon. He has found the coho-l list serve and we can expect to get messages from him on a regular, almost daily, basis. HIs claims to offer the "most renowned instructors", the "most complete curriculum" and the "most powerful training" are beyond ridiculous--you probably already figured that out.

His primary instructor, Larry Korn, is a personal friend of mine, and a fine instructor, but is not and would never claim to be, any of those superlatives. There are permaculture design courses offered in most major metropolitan areas and at many intentional communities around the country and around the world. Some of these are offered by people who are highly renowned in permaculture circles, and some are offered by people with a great deal of local knowledge and experience of conditions and opportunities in their region.

I believe that permaculture has a lot to offer to communities and to the world as we shift to a new paradigm and apply the best science and indigenous knowledge to creating a truly sustainable world. I have personally found permaculture to be extremely engaging, indeed life-changing, and hope that many people will explore the possibilities brought forward in these teachings and perspectives.

I apologize to everyone on coho-l for any negative impression of permaculture created by what I consider to be spam from this source. And I hope you will check out permaculture for yourself and your community.

Thanks,
Melanie Mindlin
