San Francisco Cohousing is well on its way, with a strong dedicated core group and many more interested folks. We're excited to announce our "Getting It Built" Workshop, led by Charles Durrett and Kathryn McCamant. This workshop is a vital step in forming our community, and will cover all the specifics of getting our cohousing community built, as well as provide an ideal entry point for new members. Date: March 10th and 11th Time: 9am to 5pm on Saturday 10am to 4pm on Sunday Location: San Francisco Richmond District Community Room 461 6th Ave San Francisco, CA 94118 To download the flier and register online, visit: SFCohousing.org Registration is $300 per person and $250 for additional family members. Purchase early, as space is limited and only a few more spots are available. Architects Kathryn McCamant and Charles Durrett, credited with bringing cohousing to North America, will be leading this two-day intensive course on the intricacies and realities of building cohousing, with special consideration to San Francisco. With over two dozen communities already in existence in the Bay Area, it's about time for cohousing to take hold in one of the most progressive cities in the world. According to Kathryn, “Cohousing recreates the relationships of old-fashioned neighborhoods while at the same time being able to take energy efficiency and sustainable design to a higher level because of the ability to plan at the community level.” What does this mean for an ultra-urban, diverse, and vibrant place such as San Francisco? Join us to learn how we can create a village within a city that merges the best of both worlds. We are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds, singles, couples, and families, to join our community, but you don't have to be interested in living in San Francisco to attend this workshop. The concepts that will be covered apply to all cohousing, and we welcome participants from any location.
