Boston is not the only place to learn about Sociocracy this June. The 2012 National Cohousing Conference is offering two workshops in Sociocracy with John Schinnerer called Governance By Design - Organizing ourselves to get things done. John is offering this as a Pre-conference full day workshop on Thursday June 14th, 8 am to 5 pm. He is also offering a two hour session on Saturday morning during the main conference. Registration and full conference schedule at: http://conference.cohousing.org Here's what John says about his workshop: Do you want to get things done and have more fun? Experience Sociocracy - a whole systems design for self?-governance. Learn to: - Organize and govern yourselves effectively and efficiently - Implement and maintain equivalence and transparency - Optimize group intelligence and wisdom while retaining individual perspectives and contributions Explore real-world, cohousing-relevant examples of governance by design. Both pre-conference and breakout workshops will be highly experiential, offering participants an opportunity to engage directly with issues of cohousing governance structure, process, issues, and solutions in real life contexts. Facilitated by John Schinnerer, principal of Governance By Design and Eco-Living Whole Systems Design and member of The Sociocracy Consulting Group. John is a whole systems design consultant, teacher, and facilitator focusing on cultural and ecological design. Since 1996, he has studied, worked, taught and published in the realms of human relatings, governance and decision making systems, appropriate technology and ecological design. His easygoing style and insightful approach support an optimal learning experience. The methods, tools and techniques that John offers invite maximum clarity, honesty, and integrity while enhancing efficiency and effectiveness; in other words, to get things done and have more fun! This is just one of the many fabulous offerings at this year's conference. Don't miss it.
