An urban apartment community may not have room for three bins-- though that is the best way to compost outdoors. Lots of dry/brown material is needed; a ratio of 3:1 kitchen scraps at least. Another possibility is worm bins in an underground parking garage. Worms work magic, and the total space can be smaller. Start with dry bedding material, moisten it and add kitchen scraps, and let the worms do the rest. Not as much need for brown material. Jerry stonesthrowcommunity.wordpress.com
