we lock the office, the cleaning supplies closet, and now the guest room. (the shop is locked, but it is in a different building). We were thinking of creating a window from the laundry room into the playroom so there would be More visibility of what was happening, but haven't gotten a round to it. we do have a parents group that meets fairly regularly to discuss parenting issues, and that seems to resolve (or at least provide a forum for discussion) for the things that come up around the kids. We have had waves of issues during the 18 years I've lived here. when one set of kids grows out of an issue, later a different set of kids grows into a different set of issues. Mostly we ask the parents of the kids to come up with the solutions, and have had a few kids circles as well. our guest room is now kept locked, even when empty because we found a homeless person in it a couple of times… and decided that was not something we wanted.
