I was in a very upscale apartment in DC that had Murphy bed. It was originally a one bedroom. The architect opened it up by taking out most of the walls. The kitchen was made very small. The kitchen was surrounded by the living room, a wide hall created from downsizing the kitchen to join the space with the former hallway, and the bedroom became a dining room. The bed was in a wall of closets on one side of the wide hall. Somewhere was the bathroom. That wall was solid cherry panelling. One had no idea a bed was in there. The bed folded down into the hallway. Sharon ---- Sharon Villines Takoma Village Cohousing, Washington DC http://www.takomavillage.org
