Bill and Christine <maniabill [at] yahoo.com> is the author of the message below. It was posted by Fred, the Cohousing-L list manager <fholson [at] cohousing.org> after I added "SF East Bay" to the subject line which I think might prompt more people to notice / read it on this national (world) list. The subject line of email is read by many more people than the body of messages (not every message received gets read...). Therefore I urge considerable effort crafting the most informative subject line in about 35 characters ( the typical length readable in ones email program index. This applies mostly to the first message in a "thread". Fred -------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS -------------------- We're looking for like-minded people to build a cohousing community in the San Francisco East Bay area. Initially, we want to find two or three households to begin the discussion with us. Eventually, we would like to form a community of 15 to 25 households. Instead of finding a vacant lot and building something new, we much prefer to repurpose an existing building. That will help us meet one objective of reducing our impact. Some other principles important to us are: - a transit-oriented location and encouraging biking and walking instead of driving - edible gardening space - vegetarian and vegan diets - respecting our health and the health of others If you're interested in becoming part of a project like this, and are ready to commit your time and resources to create a community around these ideals, please contact us at GetStarted [at] manialabs.us. We're ready to get to work now. -- Bill and Christine
