We actually have two separate teams - the kitchen team & the meals 
team.  Our scheduler is part of the meals team.

From the team mandates:

"The common house kitchen team is a standing team responsible for 
maintaining our ServSafe certification, equipping the kitchen (including 
placesetings) through purchases and acceptance of donations of items, 
organizing the kitchen and keeping it stocked.  The kitchen team is also 
responsible for the kitchen overflow closet in the basement."

"The meals team is a standing team responsible for:
        Scheduling meals
        Scheduling people to do the work of meals and meal clean-up
        Determining charges for meals and reimbursement rates for cooks
        Meals accounting, including tracking & billing
        Setting standards for meals
        Ensuring that people who do the work of meals and meal clean-up 
are trained to follow Servsafe guidelines."
