Fred, Cohousing journal/magazine back issues aren't in a unified digital archive anywhere that I know of, but there have been efforts at scanning over the years (Joani was part of some of these), and some articles showed up as reprints on earlier versions of the cohousing.org website (try searching via The Internet Archive) and the e-zine. Of course, many are no longer relevant but there are some historical insights and still-current topics discussed. Some articles also made it into "Reinventing Community: Tales from the Walkways of Cohousing" (Fulcrum Pres, 2005) by Dave Wann of Harmony Cohousing in Golden, Colorado, which you can learn more about at Dave's site: http://www.davewann.com/publications/reinventing-community/ Sharon, I'm pretty sure you've got some print issues of cohousing magazine in your community's library. Or Ann or Steve P might have some. I'm sorry to report that our Berkeley (CA) Cohousing neighbor Don Lindemann, creator of the Cohousing Journal, passed away in 2010 of Waldenstrom Syndrome, at 58; thanks to community support, he was able to die at home, and maintain mobility after losing his sight as the disease progressed. Don had handed off the magazine a decade earlier; when I first joined the Coho/US (then The Cohousing Network) board in late 1999, I was involved in transferring the mailing list, but there were not organized digital archives at that time, and later editors and layout teams didn't make putting finished articles online a priority (remember, the internet was much less well-established then) Raines Cohen, Cohousing Coach & Coho/US Volunteer PS in a web search for references to Don, this 1993 Baltimore newspaper article popped up:"Co-housing unlikely to catch on across country" http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1243&dat=19930103&id=C5ZTAAAAIBAJ&sjid=I4cDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6935,5516019 On Sat, Dec 13, 2014 at 6:50 AM, Fred H Olson <fholson [at] cohousing.org> wrote: > > > Do these exist in digital form anywhere? > I searched for > magazine on http://www.cohousing.org > and did not see anything. > I have a collection of the print mag also (somewhere). > Anyone heard from / about Don Lindemann long time editor > of the paper mag recently? > > Fred > > -- > Fred H.
