Shannan, congrats on an exciting project! Has your group reached
consensus on how you want ownership to work for ecovillage members over
time? I.e., if I want to live there, do I buy into a co-op or condo
association? Do I rent? Who pays to fix the roof when it leaks? And if I
want to leave, do I sell my property? Do I sell shares? Have I built up
equity in the meantime? Legal structure for ownership depends
fundamentally on how you want to relate to each other, and to each
other's different financial needs and means, through the place you share.

I am currently researching legal structure options and I'm thinking we'll form a corporation, which will apply for a loan to transfer land ownership. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
