Re: Forming Groups and the National Open House Day!

That sounds great.

What about in situations where the forming group isn't within the same city
area, but a couple hours away? What would you suggest then?

let's say, the existing communities may still want to have information
tables for the forming groups while most of the group members hold another
event in their own city.

I'm in this situation - I don't think it would make sense for the forming
group to hold their event AT the existing community, on the other hand, the
existing community would still promote the forming group!

What I'm realizing in this discussion is that ANY existing community could
in fact have a table or some space dedicated to info on forming groups in
general, with an emphasis on region ones. Perhaps the forming groups could
have a couple or so people representing the group there to talk to people
about it. That in itself would be great and very useful for all parties!

The rest of the 'crew' could still hold some event back in their home
town.

Again, just brainstorming!

This is the situation for my forming group in Charlotte, NC - we are at
least 2 hrs away from a number of existing communities to the North, East,
and West. This is something we are going to have to consider, and the
other NC / VA communities will want to consider how they want to handle /
represent the forming groups as well. Look forward to seeing how this
works out.
