At Westwood Cohousing in Asheville, we have a formula for calculating
assessments that takes into account heated square feet in addition to a number
of other factors. We have had some people renovate their units, and it can
affect their monthly assessment, as well as the portion of the heating cost
that is passed on to them for our central heating system. If you want more
specific details, I can have someone from our finance team send you the
formula.

Subject: [C-L]_ Changes in condo fee if a unit is expanded?
Hello Everyone,
One of our residents is planning to expand their unit by finishing
an attic which is exclusive-use common space for them. This would expand
the livable space in the unit by around 350 square feet, or an additional
38% over their current space. Does anyone on the list know what the
impact can be/would be/should be on their condo fee? Does anyone on the
list have experience on this in a condo of theirs, cohousing or not?
Thanks,
David Heimann
