All the communities I have lived in (Doyle Street and Nevada City Cohousing), 
as well as communities I’ve worked with, have budgeted for childcare during 
meetings. IMHO, if you want kids in your community, the whole community needs 
to help support parents involvement from the earliest planning meetings. I even 
know of situations where the parent didn’t want to come to the meeting during 
the planning phase, but the kid wanted to see their buddies so drug the parent 
along.  It tends to take a while for parents to get comfortable that there will 
be a good childcare options and worth bringing their kids, so keep offering it 
up even if it doesn’t work out a first.

    have been one outsider who came for years, then changing folk from
    time to time, a period where community teens did the work (for pay)
    and a period where the kids were old enough to not need/want a child
    caree person. And now we are back to young folk that need child care.
