Hi Extended Neighbors, I'd like to follow up on behalf of CohoUS that the cohousing.org web site has a definition: Go to cohousing.org and visit "What is Cohousing" at the top, or go to: http://www.cohousing.org/what_is_cohousing This was established by a task force of CohoUS Board members and cohousers after broader community input at the Durham Cohousing Conference in 2015. There are also good definitions on Wikipedia and at www.cohousingco.com It seems that this apartment sharing developer is indeed using the term for something that is well outside these definitions. The 253-unit apartment complex is way bigger than the 20-40 or so units typically in cohousing. It would be impossible to know all your neighbors. And it isn't clear that it has any of the governance or community aspects of cohousing.
