Hello, CoHo friends
I am presenting an intensive on Managing Big Construction Remediation Projects
in Cohousing, at the National Conference in Portland.
As I continue to prepare the session I will present on Friday afternoon, I find
different ways to highlight key elements that you might find of interest. My
session will share lessons learned from managing several large
remediation/repair projects in our co- housing community and others I have
talked with, including
things that forming/building communities could use;
professional resources available to help define the problem and design
the solution, once trouble comes;
processes and structures to help the community stay connected and
mutually supportive;
project management tips to help get the best out of your contractors
and your community;
financing strategies; and
how attention to specific maintenance plans can help reduce your risk
of having to deal with such projects.
I believe that the tips and tools I will share can make a difference no matter
what your community’s stage of development.
I hope you will consider coming to this program, and also spread the word
through the network to those who have had such a project, to those currently
facing one of these challenges, and to those forming and getting ready to build.
